On August 9th, unarmed 18-​​year-​​old Michael Brown was shot by a Fer­guson, Mis­souri police officer. The shooting prompted weeks of protests in the city, raising ques­tions about police force and racial inequality nation­wide. In November, a Grand Jury declined to indict the police officer involved in the shooting, sparking yet another wave of protests in the city.
