Corporate pay gap = slacking off? Not so fast

The pay imbal­ance between CEOs and the typ­ical Amer­ican worker appears to moti­vate employees to work harder, espe­cially at smaller com­pa­nies in which pro­mo­tion is performance-​​based, according to a study by two North­eastern asso­ciate pro­fes­sors of finance.
