When the cur­tain rises Tuesday night on The House of Bernarda Alba, the Depart­ment of Theatre’s first pro­duc­tion of the 2015–16 season, audi­ences will expe­ri­ence a never-​​before-​​heard trans­la­tion by the play’s director—associate pro­fessor Antonio Ocampo-​​Guzman.

The fight of her life

Bethany, the the­atre department’s first pro­duc­tion of 2014, tells the darkly comic story of a single mother’s struggle to regain what she’s lost at the height of the Great Reces­sion: her home and her daughter.

Elephant at center of student theatre production

Elephant’s Grave­yard, a play based on the true tale of the tragic col­li­sion between a strug­gling circus and a tiny town in Ten­nessee in the early 1900s, begins its two-​​week run on Tuesday in the Curry Stu­dent Center’s Studio Theatre.
