New campus mural celebrates community

Last week, muralist Susan Cer­vantes, mem­bers of Precita Eyes, and stu­dents and staff from the Latino/​a Stu­dent Cul­tural Center unveiled the latest install­ment in the university’s Public Art Ini­tia­tive. Northeastern’s newest artist-​​in-​​residence puts mural in students’ hands

Bay Area muralist Susan Cer­vantes and artists from her orga­ni­za­tion, Precita Eyes, say they serve as a “bridge” between art and the com­mu­nity, and they’re doing just that by col­lab­o­rating with stu­dents to design and paint the university’s newest mural on the Latino/​a Stu­dent Cul­tural Center as part of North­eastern Public Art Ini­tia­tive. New campus mural from start to finish

Uni­ver­sity pho­tog­ra­phers were there to doc­u­ment Boston-​​based artist Cedric Dou­glas as he cre­ated a new mural on the Behrakis Health Sci­ences Center. The mural is the latest instal­la­tion in Northeastern’s Public Art Initiative.
