Do you know what’s in your drinking water?’

New faculty member Ameet Pinto, assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, is working to answer that question. Specifically, his research focuses on the role of microbial organisms in drinking water and how they continue to survive today’s exhaustive water treatment processes.

A simpler way to test for water pollution

Assistant professor Loretta Fernandez has developed a straightforward method for determining the concentration of contaminants likely to end up in the tissues of organisms living in polluted waterways.
