Celebrate graduation at CommencementFest

Thursday night’s fes­tiv­i­ties on Cen­ten­nial Common will give grad­u­ates and their guests a chance to cel­e­brate before Friday’s Com­mence­ment. Kerry, who is the United States’ top diplomat, will speak to a gath­ering of 25,000 grad­u­ates, family mem­bers, uni­ver­sity leaders, and friends from around the world during Northeastern’s 114th Com­mence­ment exer­cises on May 6 at TD Garden.

About 440 grad­uate stu­dents in 12 master’s degree pro­grams received their degrees on Thursday at Com­mence­ment, where Pres­i­dent Joseph E. Aoun and alumnus Spencer Fung, group chief exec­u­tive officer of Li & Fung, were among the dis­tin­guished speakers.

While studying at North­eastern, Christie Civetta, SSH’15, has worked throughout the world to tackle the pre­ven­tion of sui­cide and drug abuse. She’ll share her journey with her fellow grad­u­ates on May 8 when she delivers her Com­mence­ment address.

It’s center stage for student speaker

Emily Izzo, SSH’14, will deliver the stu­dent address at Northeastern’s 112th com­mence­ment on Friday morning at the TD Garden, where she will encourage fellow grad­u­ates to go out and explore all the world has to offer.
