Boston Phoenix archives donated to Northeastern

For nearly 50 years, The Boston Phoenix, which ceased publication in 2013, was Boston’s alternative newspaper of record, the first word on social justice, politics, as well as the arts and music scene. Now, thanks to a gift from Phoenix owner Stephen Mindich, that work will be preserved for posterity in Snell Library’s Archives and Special Collections.

50 Years Forward’ series honors civil rights efforts

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the landmark Civil Rights Act, Northeastern University has organized a yearlong series commemorating the people, events, and groups dedicated to civil rights in America and around the globe. These events include a Gallery 360 exhibit opening Thursday.
