Northeastern community vigil

Sev­eral hun­dred mem­bers of the North­eastern com­mu­nity gath­ered Tuesday after­noon in the Curry Stu­dent Center Ball­room for a vigil to remember and sup­port those affected by the bomb­ings at the 2013 Boston Marathon. The can­dle­light vigil fea­tured prayers and thoughts from uni­ver­sity leaders and mem­bers of Northeastern’s faith community.

  • Several hundred students, faculty, and staff gathered for the vigil on Tuesday.

  • A student held a candle during the vigil.

  • Robert Jose, associate dean for cultural, residential, and spiritual life, spoke to members of the Northeastern community.

  • Two students held hands during a prayer.

  • Naila Baloch, left, and Beau Latif Scurich, Muslim spiritual advisers at the Center for Spirituality, Dialogue and Service, delivered a prayer.

  • President Joseph E. Aoun, left, spoke with John Rahman, a chemistry graduate student and volunteer at Tufts Medical Center who responded following the attacks.

  • Members of the Northeastern community embraced following the vigil.
