It was patri­o­tism that prompted Angelo Giambusso to join the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942.

Sev­enty years later, Giambusso, 88, who lives at Edge­wood Retire­ment Com­mu­nity with his wife, Terry, said he still gets a “tingle” when he hears “The Star-​​Spangled Banner” or “God Bless America.”

He was proud to be an Amer­ican during those stressful days of World War II and he’s just as proud to be an Amer­ican today.
