Aereo CEO Chet Kanojia will be speaking at 5 p.m. Monday in a “fire­side chat” with­North­eastern Unver­sity Pres­i­dent Joseph E. Aoun, to be held at Northeastern’s Raytheon Amphithe­ater as part of the university’s Pro­files in Inno­va­tion Series.

Aereo, which is head­quar­tered in New York but has a major office in Boston, is a subscription-​​based web­site that allows users to watch and record live TV online.

Kanojia, who is based out of Boston, was pre­vi­ously the founder of Waltham-​​based Navic Net­works, a TV ad com­pany that was acquired by Microsoft in 2008. He has patented more than 14 tech­nolo­gies in fields ranging from robotics to data com­mu­ni­ca­tions sys­tems. He has a master’s degree in com­puter sys­tems engi­neering from North­eastern University.
