Ken­neth G. Ryder, former pres­i­dent of North­eastern Uni­ver­sity, has died, according to the university’s web­site. He was 88.

Ryder was NU’s fourth pres­i­dent, serving for 14 years begin­ning in 1975. During his tenure, he launched the Col­lege of Com­puter Sci­ence as well as nearly two dozen research insti­tutes, according to Northeastern.
