Con­stan­tinos Mavroidis and Mark Sivak super­vise North­eastern stu­dents and assign them with one “very broad” task every fall semester. This past year, it was to create a med­ical device that could be used to mon­itor users’ activ­i­ties at home, that could also be inter­face­able with a smart­phone. Little did they know, their stu­dents would create a pro­to­type they’re now run­ning through tests and hoping to, one day, commercialize.
