Ryan Cordell, an assis­tant pro­fessor of Eng­lish and a dig­ital human­i­ties expert, is using a newly dig­i­tized cor­pora of his­tor­ical texts, including news­pa­pers, mag­a­zines, and novels, to iden­tify the pop­ular ele­ments of 19th-​​century culture.
