April 3, 2014 - Political science major Stanislas Phanord, SSH'14, is a Rangel Fellow and Fulbright Scholar. Phanord has participated in two Dialogues: in 2013 to Aix-en-Provence, France, and in 2012 to Geneva, Switzerland, as well as two global co-op experiences: in 2013 in Saint-Louis, Senegal, and in 2012 in Geneva, Switzerland. November 21, 2013 - Kim Lewis, University Distinguished Professor of Biology, and post-doctoral researcher Brian Conlon work in Lewis' lab. Together, they developed a novel approach to destroying methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), a cause of deadly and often chronic infections. The new treatment approach uses a secondary drug, ADEP, to "reactivate" dormant MRSA cells that were not eliminated by conventional antibiotics and cause them to self-destruct….Photo by Brooks Canaday
