Northeastern University will be kicking off a new initiative called “The One Campaign” to engage alumni, parents and friends in conversations about the future direction of the University. The campaign will reinforce the connections that unite all members of the Northeastern family.

The goal is to connect with nearly 2,000 members of the university community in one-on-one, face-to-face conversations about Northeastern during an intensive one-month period this spring. The university-wide campaign will be led by Northeastern President Joseph Aoun and includes deans, development officers and advancement staff from all of Northeastern’s schools and colleges. The campaign is expected to reach roughly one in every 100 alumni around the world.

The One Campaign is an opportunity for the administration, faculty and staff to visit with, listen to and learn from members of the Northeastern family, each of whom have a vested interest in Northeastern’s success. We are going to see a record number of people, in record time,” said Diane MacGillivray, senior vice president for university advancement. “This outreach initiative will build visibility and excitement about what’s happening at Northeastern, while reaffirming and celebrating the pride we all feel for our university.”

Insights and feedback from alumni will help to inform strategic decisions about how Northeastern can create a closer-knit community of alumni, parents and friends who are actively engaged, informed and proud of their affiliation with Northeastern.

The One Campaign kicks off Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Miami Alumni Chapter Wine Tasting and Dinner at Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar.

Collectively we’ve all had a million different experiences at Northeastern, but we’re all part of one family. We are redoubling our efforts to interact with alumni because each person has an important voice and a unique perspective that we can all learn from,” said Jack Moynihan, vice president of alumni relations and The Northeastern Fund.

One of the initiatives that university officials will be talking about during personal visits is the new “Double Husky” scholarship program. Announced last week, the program features a 25 percent tuition reduction across more than 100 master’s and certificate programs to help current seniors and recent alumni gain an advantage in this economy.
