Fes­tival runs this week through Sunday, August 3

WHO: North­eastern Uni­ver­sity will host sev­eral events during the 10th Annual Rox­bury Film Festival.

WHAT: More than 80 films will be show­cased during the fes­tival, and sev­eral Hol­ly­wood guests are expected to attend, including Ruby Dee (2007 Oscar Award Nom­inee for Best Sup­porting Actress in “Amer­ican Gang­ster”) and Robert Townsend (who appears in “Of Boys and Men,” which will be shown during the film festival).

11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Dis­tri­b­u­tion in the Dig­ital Age (a panel discussion)

2–3:30 p.m. Health Dis­par­i­ties in our Com­mu­nity I – a series of short films including: Unnat­ural Causes: In sick­ness and in Wealth; REACH­Boston 2010; fol­lowed by Q&A with filmmakers

3:30–5:30 p.m. Health Dis­par­i­ties in our Com­mu­nity II – a series of short films including: Sharp­ening Our Oyster Knives: Living with HIV/​AIDS Today; Jesus Chil­dren of America; Secrets; and Hope, mod­er­ated by Sheryl Lee Ralph
