What: Reverend Dr. Zan Wesley Holmes, pastor emeritus of St. Luke Community United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX, will give the keynote address at Northeastern University’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Convocation, with welcoming remarks from Northeastern President Joseph E. Aoun.
When: Wednesday, January 9, 2008, beginning at 11:45 a.m.
Where: The Convocation will be held at the Blackman Auditorium, Ell Hall First Floor Lobby, 360 Huntington Avenue, Boston.
All attendees are invited to a reception and Q & A session with Reverend Dr. Holmes following the convocation at 1:25 p.m. at the John D. O’Bryant African American Institute, 40 Leon Street, Boston.
Event Details: Northeastern University’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Convocation commemorates the legacy of Dr. King, Jr., particularly his commitment and contribution to the struggle for social justice and human rights in the United States and worldwide.
Northeastern is honored to host Reverend Dr. Holmes as the keynote speaker on this day or remembrance for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Holmes is known for not only his community activism, but for his preaching and teaching. He models the important ideals that his great predecessor Dr. King put forth in his everyday life, and his words and actions are a reminder of the vital role that each individual plays in achieving social justice for all.
