WHO/​WHAT: North­eastern Uni­ver­sity will cel­e­brate an evening of Jewish and Latino cul­ture with music, art, reading selec­tions and food.

North­eastern fac­ulty mem­bers and spe­cial guests will present on topics including cul­tural back­grounds, Jewish pres­ence in Brazilian art, Jewish Cuban Cui­sine, Jewish-​​Latin Amer­ican music and poetry.

An art show and a recep­tion fea­turing authentic Latin Amer­ican and Jewish cui­sine will also take place.

Pre­sen­ters include Stephen Sadow, Pro­fessor of Modern Lan­guages; Alan West-​​Durán, Asso­ciate Pro­fessor of Modern Lan­guages and Director of the Latino, Latin Amer­ican and Caribbean Studies Pro­gram; Isabel Meirelles, Assis­tant Pro­fessor of Art and Design; Alicia Borinski, Boston Uni­ver­sity Pro­fessor of Spanish and Director of the “Writing in the Amer­icas” Pro­gram and Ester Shapiro, Uni­ver­sity of Massachusetts-​​Boston Asso­ciate Pro­fessor of Psychology.
