WHO/​WHAT: North­eastern University’s Depart­ment of Art + Design wel­comes Jeff Kleiser, spe­cial effects artist, pro­ducer and director as part of the third annual visiting-​​artist lec­ture series.

Pres­i­dent and Co-​​Founder of Kleiser-​​Walczak Con­struc­tion Com­pany, a bi-​​costal ani­ma­tion and effects house, Jeff Kleiser’s ground­breaking work in com­puter ani­ma­tion has spanned the his­tory of the medium.

Kleiser and partner Diana Wal­czak coined the term “sythes­pian”, meaning syn­thetic actor, and later launched Sythes­pian Stu­dios in 2005.

Acclaimed as an industry pio­neer, Kleiser has con­tributed to films with rev­o­lu­tionary visual effects including Tron, Star­gate, Judge Dredd, Mortal Combat Anni­hi­la­tion, and X-​​Men.
