What: Northeastern’s Depart­ment of Visual Arts will host artist Pam Lon­go­b­ardi as a guest speaker for the University’s second annual visiting-​​artist lec­ture series. Lon­go­b­ardi employs sev­eral genres, including painting, pho­tog­raphy, and instal­la­tions, and her work is known for addressing the psy­cho­log­ical rela­tion­ship between humans and the nat­ural world.

About the Artist: Since 1990, Pam Lon­go­b­ardi has had over 25 solo exhi­bi­tions and 65 group exhi­bi­tions in gal­leries and museums in the United States, Italy, Spain, Fin­land, Poland, and Japan. Her paint­ings are included in cor­po­rate and pri­vate col­lec­tions across the nation, and she has been com­mis­sioned to create works for Ben­ziger Winery, the Hyatt Cor­po­ra­tion, the Atlanta Harts­field Inter­na­tional Air­port, and the First Ten­nessee Bank in Mem­phis. Her 1993 instal­la­tion enti­tled “1614–1914 (A Dis­ap­pear­ance of Wings)” was included in the 2004 exhi­bi­tion Bird­space, shown at the New Orleans Con­tem­po­rary Art Center, the Norton Museum of Art, and the Hudson River Museum. Her large-​​scale dig­ital pho­tographs were fea­tured in “Skin: Con­tem­po­rary Views of the Body” at the Jack­sonville Museum of Modern Art where she had a solo exhi­bi­tion of paint­ings in 2004. Awards include res­i­dency fel­low­ships at the Franz Masereel Center in Bel­gium and Red Cinder in Hawaii
