Our Three New Colleges
Northeastern University this year restructured the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Criminal Justice into three new colleges, effective on July 1, 2010. CAS undergraduate programs are being divided into the College of Arts, Media and Design, the College of Science, and the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. The College of Criminal Justice will become the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice within the College of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The establishment of these new colleges is an outgrowth of Northeastern’s increasing focus on globalization, interdisciplinary research, and innovative academic programs. These changes have opened up new opportunities for students and faculty, and smaller, more nimble colleges with closely focused academic perspectives will enable Northeastern to maximize those opportunities.
