NU IlluminatedJoin us at locations across campus for the second annual Northeastern Illuminated week, highlighting Northeastern’s excellence, distinctiveness, and innovation in experiential learning, research, intellectual life and creative expression, urban engagement, and global outreach.

We’ll celebrate and illuminate the achievements and energy of our students, faculty, and staff through a weeklong series of events that bring to life the Husky spirit.

A Scottish Ceilidh. An evening of Scottish music and dancing that reflects one of the most accessible forms of traditional Scottish dance. The Fenway Center, 6:30 pm.

Welcome to Our World: Art and Artifacts of International Students. Arts, crafts, fashion, fabrics, and jewelry from our international students’ own collections, reflecting their home countries. Art Gallery, Curry Student Center, hours vary.

Global Journeys: An International Photo Exhibit. Journey across the globe through photographs shot by Northeastern students, faculty, staff, and members of the community on their travels abroad. Art Gallery, Curry Student Center, hours vary.

NU Creates banner installation. A display of student art work, part of our multi-year celebration of Northeastern's creative expression. West Village H, ground floor window display, Huntington Avenue side.

“Urban Land Use and Urban Sprawl,” lecture by Center for Urban Research Policy director Barry Bluestone and researcher David Soule for the course, “The 21st Century City: Urban Opportunities and Challenges in a Global Context.”  215 Shillman Hall, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

President’s Service Recognition Dinner. Celebrating the accomplishments and spirit of our five-year, ten-year, fifteen-year, and twenty-year faculty and staff. By invitation.

Research and Scholarship Expo. Showcasing the fundamental, interdisciplinary and translational research and scholarship of faculty and students. Matthews Arena, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Robert D. Klein Lecture: “Campus Massacre: Making Sense of Senseless Shootings,” by James Alan Fox, Lipman Family Professor of Criminal Justice. Raytheon Amphitheater, Egan Research Center, 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Friday, March 28

Argentine Tango Night with the Bernardo Monk Jazz Quintet. ISSI distinguished artist series event. Learn the art of the tango to a unique repertoire of music by Argentine saxophonist Bernardo Monk and his quintet. The Fenway Center, 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
