Matteo has been elected as a member of the IEEE Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control Society (UFFC) Administrative Committee (AdCom) for a three-year term 1 January 2013 – 31 December 2015.

The paper A. Tazzoli, N. Kuo, M. Rinaldi, H. Pak, D. Fry, D. Bail, D. Stevens, and G. Piazza, ” A 586 MHz Microcontroller Compensated MEMS Oscillator based on Ovenized Aluminum Nitride Contour-Mode Resonators”, has been accepted for presentation at the 2012 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS 2012), Dresden, Germany, 7-10 October 2012.

The total amount of the award is $300,000 for a 2 year duration. The objective of the DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA) program is to identify and engage rising research stars in junior faculty positions at U.S. academic institutions and expose them to Department of Defense needs as well as DARPA’s program development process.
