Northeast LSAMP International Experience in South Africa at North West University

Call for applications to the NE International LSAMP program

This is an opportunity to provide international undergrad research experiences for talented students who are involved in LSAMP activities.  Sophomore and Junior applicants have the chance to work closely with North West University faculty on exciting new research projects while also broadening their cultural horizons through a month of residence in South Africa including; intercultural workshops, activities, and excursions.

Program dates: May 15 – June 2, 2011
Application deadline: May 1, 2011

Research Placements for Students includes:

1. Cognitive Radio / Software Defined Radio (Spectrum Sensing, Channel modelling etc.)
2. Audio Fingerprinting/Recognition techniques or similar
3. Bioinformatics-DNA methylation techniques or similar

There is no participation fee for this program, and after the application deadline, up to 5 scholarships will be made available this year and will include airfare, room and board for accepted students.

NOTE:  Students must have valid insurance and a current passport.
