As a venture capitalist for three decades, Richard D’ Amore values the role that higher education plays in furthering innovation. He is the cofounder of North Bridge Venture Partners, a leading early-stage and growth equity venture firm, and has long been committed to fostering entrepreneurship at Northeastern.
A member of the Northeastern Corporation since 2007, D’Amore was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2008 and serves as board vice chair. He is also active on a number of other public and private boards.
Before entering the venture capital industry, he was a consultant at Bain and Company and a certified public accountant at Arthur Young and Company.
D’Amore graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern in 1976 and was a Baker Scholar at Harvard Business School, where he received his master’s degree in business administration in 1980.

As the founder of an innovative, highly successful business, Alan McKim exemplifies Northeastern’s entrepreneurial spirit. After establishing Clean Harbors in 1980 at age 25, he took the company public while studying in the university’s Executive MBA program.
Today, Clean Harbors is the foremost provider of environmental, energy, and industrial services in North America, serving a majority of the Fortune 500 companies, thousands of private entities, and federal, state, provincial, and local governmental agencies in the United States and Canada.
McKim has been a visionary force in advancing Northeastern’s culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. He joined the Northeastern Corporation in 1989 and was elected trustee in 2010. He holds an honorary doctorate from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
