Huskies Ride Momentum into February

After a slow start to the season, winning only three of their first nine games. Heading into the month of February having since won ten of their last twelve, the Northeastern Men's Ice Hockey Club looks to continue the strong play in a busy month that features a game against NECHA foe Boston College, the Club Beanpot, and potentially both the Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA) playoffs and the American Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA) regionals.
This season has seen great play and consistent production out of the returning top line, Billy Swasey (Concord, NH), Andréa Pasquale (Weston, MA), and Zach Croy (Belmont, MA). Rookies Cameron Chaput (Rye, NH) and Kyle Demers (Westborough, MA) have made an immediate impact on the second line with fourth year winger Mike DiOrio (Revere, MA). On defense, Andrew Carlson (Colonia, NJ) leads all defensemen with 21 points (6g, 15a), followed by Jonathan Martiniello (Mahwah, NJ) with 9 (2g, 7a) and defensive partner Matt Smith (Concord, NH) with 8 (1g, 7a). Second year player Brandon Beneduce (Phoenix, AZ) and rookie Justin Evangelista (East Boston, MA)  have played exceptionally strong all year, as well. Filling in in net for injured starter Chris McIndoe (New York City, NY) (5-0, 1.41 GAA), freshmen Matthew LaBarge (Lynnfield, MA) (6-2, 2.72 GAA) has shown excellent goaltending and has been a major factor in the Club's recent success this season.
The Huskies' next game will be their final NECHA league game against perennial contender Boston College on the road at the Dexter Rink in Brookline, MA at 5:30pm on Saturday, February5th.
