REPRESENTATION THEORY AND RELATED TOPICS SEMINAR
ABSTRACT: Representations of the circle
have appeared in very different contexts, which we will
briefly discuss. Then we will discuss motivation for a
unified definition and provide such a definition. We then
show how pointwise finite-dimensional representations of the
circle decompose analogously to type à quivers. Importantly,
we do not obtain any strange new indecomposables due to the
continuum. This is joint work with Eric J. Hanson.
