The Associated Permutations of Mutation Sequences

ABSTRACT: Associated permutations were already used when Fomin-Zelevinsky first defined cluster algebras. They are also naturally defined for reddening sequences and in particular maximal green sequences. We have defined several new concepts to extend the definition of associated permutations to arbitrary mutation sequences albeitly with the permutations no longer being canonical in most cases. In this talk I will explain these new concepts and their applications to cluster algebras. If time permits I will also talk about other results about the associated permutations.
