Introduction to Derived Categories and Semiorthogonal Decompositions

ABSTRACT:
We will give a brief introduction to bounded derived categories of
coherent sheaves on smooth projective varieties, by focusing at
semiorthogonal decompositions. We will start by describing the derived
category of projective spaces, and then present more recent
applications to classical problems in geometry, by following work of
Kuznetsov.
