ABSTRACT: The classical way of defining zeroth derived functors requires that the categories involved have enough injectives and enough projectives. In this talk, I will give a more general definition of the zeroth derived functors that works without these requirements. I will justify the more general definition by showing that the category of coherent functors admits a zeroth right derived functor in the more general setting.
