ABSTRACT: (Finite) W-algebras are certain associative algebras arising in Lie theory and generalizing universal enveloping algebras of semisimple Lie algebras. In this talk I plan to explain several results regarding classification of their finite dimensional irreducibles. I will start by recalling a definition that first appeared as such in 1108.4171. Then I will explain results of 0807.1023 that provide an "almost complete classification": a classification modulo certain finite group of outer automorphisms. Finally, I will plan to explain my work with V. Ostrik that completes the classification for representations with integral central characters by describingthe group action.
