The Postnikov Tower in Algebraic Geometry

ABSTRACT: Voevodsky's "slice tower" gives an algebro-geometric analog to the classical Postnikov tower in stable homotopy theory. We give some of the ideas going into this construction, and then some aspects of our recent work identifying the slice tower with the "homotopy coniveau tower" which is constructed by modifying the well-known coniveau filtration.
