Representation Dimension and
the Finitistic Dimension Conjecture

ABSTRACT:  Representation dimension of an algebra, introduced by M. Auslander, was shown (Iyama) to be always finite and for many classes of algebras to be at most three. It was shown (Igusa - Todorov) that all algebras of representation dimension at most three satisfy the Finitistic Dimension Conjecture. No algebra is known to have representation dimension larger than three.
