Noncommutative Projective Geometry:
Strange Surfaces
ABSTRACT: I will report on recent work with Dennis Keeler and Daniel Rogalski which
produces some weird and wonderful ``noncommutative surfaces'' (or positively
graded rings with the dimension of the graded pieces growing quadratically).
As we will show, if you are careless with the idea of noncommutative ``blowing-up''
you get much more interesting results than if you do it properly.
