Courant Algebroids
ABSTRACT: This
is an introductory talk on Courant algebroids. I will show how the explicit
definition of these objects and their non-commutative counterpart (vertex
algebroids) is rooted in the theory of vertex algebras, exhibit various examples
and classification results. Time permitting, I will construct the canonical
exact vertex algebroid over the de Rham DGA of a manifold.
