Homological Aspects of Combinatorial Commutative Algebra

ABSTRACT: Recently, I introduced the notion of squarefree modules, which are certain multi-graded modules over a polynomial ring. Many modules appearing in the theory of Stanley-Reisner rings are squarefree. On the other hand, the category of squarefree
modules is equivalent to the category of finitely generated left A modules, where A is the incidence algebra of the Boolean lattice.
In this seminar, I will mainly talk about the bounded derived category of squarefree modules.  We have three dualities on this category, and they act just like three permutations of S_3 (up to translation). The incidence algebra A is Koszul, and its quadratic dual A^! is isomorphic to A itself. One of the three dualities for squarefree modules corresponds to "Koszul duality" between  Koszul modules over A and those over A^! (= A, in this case).
