Jon Carlson, Support arieties and the stable category.

Abstract: This lecture will be a brief survey of the theory of support varieties for modules over finite groups. We will discuss how the support varieties are used to classify thick subcategories of the stable category and show how this work connects with recent work of Friedlander-Pevtsova and Balmer.

Abstracts of Sunday Lectures

Jon Carlson, Endotrivial modules.

Abstract: In this lecture we present a survey of results on endotrivial modules over the groups algebras of finite groups and finite group schemes. Particular attention will be paid to recent work of the speaker with Mazza, Thevenaz and Nakano.
