International Students

Additional information for International Students can be found at Northeastern University’s International Student & Scholar Institute (ISSI) website.

Regarding the application process, International Students must demonstrate proficiency in writing and speaking English. We require the submission of an official TOEFL or IELTS score report. The minimum accepted score for the TOEFL computerized test is 250 (paper test equivalent is 600, new internet test equivalent is 100). For the TOEFL test, the Institution Code for Northeastern is 3682 and the Department Code for Marine Biology is 30 (Biological Sciences: Other). The minimum accepted score for the IELTS test is 6.5.

International students must also submit a Declaration and Certification of Finances (DCF) form, which can be found on the ISSI website. Because there is little financial aid available for International Students to study in the United States, use these links to learn more about Financial Aid for International Students and International Student Loan Programs.
