Certified Mail

Certified mail provides you with a mailing receipt for tracking purposes only. A Certified Label (PS Form 3800) should be filled out completely and affixed at the top of the envelope and placed between the return address and the meter stamp area.  The meter stamp needs 3.25 inches.

Return Receipt

Return receipt provides you with proof of delivery.  A Return Card (PS Form 3811) should be filled out completely and affixed to the back of the envelope.

Combined Certified and Return Receipt

Combined Certified and Return Receipt mail service is the most commonly used service and is available for Domestic First Class only.  No insurance coverage is provided. A numbered label (PS Form 3800) and a completed receipt (PS Form 3811) must be affixed.
