On the attack As
president of the board of directors for the Boston affiliate of
the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, I was extremely gratified
to read about the extensive breast cancer research being carried
out across so many disciplines at my alma mater [“The
Good Fight,” January].
The foundation was established in 1982 by Nancy
Brinker in memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast
cancer at the age of thirty-six. Its mission is to eradicate breast
cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education,
screening, and treatment.
I am very proud to be affiliated with this wonderful,
volunteer-driven group. If anyone would like to learn more or get
involved, please e-mail us at info@komenboston.org,
or call 617.746.9292.

I enjoy reading the magazine very much, the best
alumni magazine I have come across. Its wide variety of graduate
success stories show Northeastern is an excellent institution of
learning.

It’s been seventy-three years, but we still
look forward to every issue. Keep up the good work.

I really enjoyed the 1903 Red Sox article [“It
Was a Hundred Years Ago Today”] in the September 2003 issue.

The magazine is getting better and better. Keep
up the good work.

Excellent magazine. We have three Boston-area alma
maters—and Yale—so we should be aware of quality standards.
Also, we are delighted with Bill Fowler’s election, a real
gain for the Alumni Association.

You do a very good job—far better than most
alumni magazines.
