University gets good grade for greening
Northeastern has added a color to its traditional red and black. Now it’s green, too.
The university recently got a much-improved grade from the College Sustainability Report Card, which tracks environmentally friendly practices and policies on U.S. and Canadian campuses.
Northeastern’s grade jumped from a C- to a B, making it one of five institutions singled out for demonstrating the greatest year-to-year improvement.
The Report Card gave Northeastern an A in the areas of climate change and energy, green building, investment priorities, and transportation.
Facilities vice president Dan Bourque applauded the recognition, saying going green “has to become a way of life.”
