Take a Bow!

College of Business Administration professor Marc Meyer has been named the 2005-2007 Matthews Distinguished University Professor. Co-director of the high-tech MBA program and coordinator of the entrepreneurship and innovation group, Meyer will use the professorship to complete a book on internally generated enterprise growth.

Northeastern on Demand, an online portal that links members of the university community with files, storage, and software, has earned two national awards. It received Computerworld magazine's award for best practices in enterprise management in the "innovation and promise" category, and it served as the impetus for CIO magazine's naming Northeastern a top-100 "bold" company.

Four 2005 graduates of the high-tech MBA program—Basil Aliferis, Elvis Alonso, Linda McAnern, and Nandha Thiagarajan—made it to the semifinals of the Fortune Small-Business Student Showdown, an annual business-plan competition, with their idea for starting a Latin FM radio station in Boston. The idea also won the top prize in a Northeastern business-plan competition.
