IITMadras visitors raise CCIS's global reputation
In a coup for the College of Computer and Information Science, three undergrads from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras recently wrapped up research internships at Northeastern, an outreach effort officials believe will highlight and strengthen the college's international reputation.
The three studentsAbishek Kumarasubramanian, Rajsekar Manokaran, and Rivichandra Chakinalaare the field's "cream of the cream," says Ravi Sundaram, associate professor of computer science, who planned the visit.
Patrick Plunkett, executive director of international initiatives, adds that reaching out to IITMadras, "a world-class organization," should greatly benefit NU.
Funded by entrepreneuer Madhav Anand, MCS'89, the visit enabled the Indian students to work closely with Northeastern professors and produce technical papers for high-profile journals.
