Take a Bow!

President Richard Freeland has been gathering a number of public thank-yous as he prepares to step down this summer. Freeland recently received one of the university's annual Aspiration Awards for ten years of dedicated service in keeping Northeastern focused on positive change. And he will receive an honorary doctorate of higher education at commencement.

Robert Goldberg, longtime College of Business Administration adjunct faculty member, has been named one of ten "legends in our own time" by Mutual Fund Market News. Goldberg was named to a list that includes Charles Schwab, founder of Charles Schwab brokerage; Peter Lynch, vice chairman, Fidelity Investments; Ted Benna, the man who first realized the potential of the 401(k) provision in the IRS tax codes; and John C. Bogle, founder of Vanguard and one of the biggest proponents of index investing.

Goldberg was cited for his eleven years of service as president of the National Investment Company Service Association (NICSA). During his tenure, NICSA grew from a New York/Boston trade association to a major international best-practices organization.
