Lory Hough, AS’90, of Melrose, Massachusetts,
celebrated the birth of her son, Ellis, in 2005. Hough has changed
jobs at Harvard University, moving from writing for the Kennedy
School of Government magazine to editing the Education School magazine.
Daniel Springer, MA’90, of Harwich, Massachusetts,
chairs the fine and performing arts department at Dennis-Yarmouth
Regional High School, on Cape Cod. He has taught at the school for

David M. Bizar, CJ’91, of West Hartford, Connecticut,
is a partner in the Hartford law firm McCarter & English.
He specializes in commercial litigation. Before he entered private
practice, Bizar served in the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General
Corps with the First Cavalry Division. He has been the chair of
the Consumer Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and
received the Pro Bono Award from Lawyers for Children of America.
Cristina Csimma, GB’91, of Lincoln, Massachusetts,
is a principal in the Cambridge office of Clarus Ventures, a life-sciences
venture capital company. She was formerly senior director of translational
research and experimental medicine at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
Joseph DiGiantommaso, MBA’91, of Walpole,
Massachusetts, is the chief financial officer at InterSense, a precision
motion-tracking technology company in Bedford.
Jennifer Jahn Larson, GB’91, reports she and
her family have moved to Greenville, South Carolina. Larson is the
mental-health supervisor for the Greenville County Detention Center.
She notes she and her husband, Kurt, are kept busy by Grace, their
“energetic preschooler.”
Kelly M. Bonnevie, L’92, of Newton, Massachusetts,
was named a 2006 Lawyer of the Year by Massachusetts Lawyers
Weekly. Since 1994, she has been litigating a racial-discrimination
case on behalf of four terminated public employees. She’s
also waging a battle with breast cancer. “[The cancer is]
in the early stages and very treatable,” she told Massachusetts
Lawyers Weekly. “Plus, I have terrific law partners
and great support from the broader legal community. And, of course,
I have great family support. I couldn’t do it without my spouse,
Karen Kaufman, and my kids, Matt and Abby.” Bonnevie also
spoke about a defining moment in law school: “In Contracts
class first year, [we studied a case where] a judge mentioned the
plaintiff’s race in a decision [that had nothing to do with
race]. That’s something most of us skipped over when reading
the case. But Professor David Hall spoke eloquently about how the
person’s race had no bearing on the outcome, yet the judge
felt compelled to mention it.” She joined the law firm Wilson,
Marino & Bonnevie in 1996.
Tina Cassidy, AS’92, of Boston, is the author
of Birth: The Surprising History of How We Are Born, published
by Atlantic Monthly Press last year. The book is a cultural history
of childbirth. Cassidy regularly writes for the Boston Globe, where
she worked as a staff reporter and editor for more than a decade.
Alan C. Grazioso, AS’92, of Arlington,
Massachusetts, is an independent filmmaker whose recent credits
include a PBS Kids’ Postcards from Buster episode
entitled “Your Friend, My Friend.” Produced with his
wife, bilingual producer/director Patricia Alvarado, and filmed
entirely on location in San Diego, California, and Tijuana, Mexico,

Scott Miller, MCS’92, PHD’97, of Waban,
Massachusetts, is the chief scientist for Basis Technology, a Cambridge-based
provider of enterprise software for multilingual text retrieval
and analysis. Basis Technology acquired Translingual Technologies,
which Miller founded.
John D. Rogers, MBA’92, of Newburyport, Massachusetts,
is the managing director of the medical-technology investment banking
team at Medical Capital Advisors. Previously, he was a senior banker
at Brown Brothers Harriman.
Carlos Dominguez, MBA’93, of Caracas, Venezuela,
is an assistant professor at Universidad Santiago Mariño.

David Leeson, BPH’93, and his wife, Sandi,
welcomed the birth of their son, Holden Robert, on August 24, 2006.

Robert Puopolo, BA’93, of Wellesley, Massachusetts,
in May 2006 was elected a partner in the technology companies group
of the law firm Goodwin Procter. In addition, he was named
a 2006 Super Lawyer/Rising Star in two magazines, Law &
Politics and Boston.
Wendy (Oliveira) Rogers, BPH’93, and John
Rogers, CJ’93, celebrated the birth of their second child,
a daughter named Kathryn Page, on July 21, 2006. Alexander is their
older child. The family lives in North Attleborough, Massachusetts.
John is an associate in the law firm Edwards Angell Palmer &
Dodge in Providence, Rhode Island. Wendy works per diem in the physical
therapy department at Rhode Island Hospital. The couple says hello
to their former teammates on the Northeastern swimming and diving
team.
Amanda Willis, L’93, of Greensboro, North
Carolina, writes, “I have accepted a teaching position at
Tufts University for spring 2007. Subject? Progressive, cutting-edge,
and public-interest: Animal law. Speaking of the underrepresented!
I’m looking forward to returning to Boston after eight years
away.”
Jason P. Caruso, AS’94, of Coventry, Connecticut,
is a wholesaler with DWS Scudder. He was previously a vice president
with Franklin Templeton.
Erin Daly, BA’94, of Burlington, Massachusetts,
says “hi” to Jodi, Scott, Bobby, and Celine. “I
am the director of product development at ITA Software,” she
adds. “And would I love to hear from folks!”
Ronan W. Gannon, MBA’94, of Kennett Square,
Pennsylvania, is the vice president, U.S. marketing, for ZLB Behring.
Formerly, he was executive director of marketing for vaccines at
GlaxoSmithKline.
Claudia Guzman, BA’94, of West Roxbury, Massachusetts,
is an associate research consultant with Forrester Research, in
Cambridge. “Happily working in custom research,” she
writes. “My new job is great, challenging, and very interesting.”
In addition, she is the president-elect of the Boston chapter of
the National Society of Hispanic MBAs.
Joe Haynes, P’94, of St. Petersburg, Florida,
was recently promoted to pharmacy operations manager at All Children’s
Hospital in St. Petersburg. He also writes a biweekly political
column for the Tampa Bay Sun and serves on the executive
committee of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida, a libertarian
organization within the GOP. “I will always cherish the memories
of my time at NU,” he writes, “and am glad NU selected
me to be part of their pharmacy program.”
Srinath Narayanan, ME’94, of Menlo Park, California,
is a principal in the West Coast investment-banking technology group
at Canaccord Adams. He was formerly with Kaufman Brothers, where
he oversaw media and the Internet, and infrastructure and communications
equipment sectors, and was responsible for building the West Coast
investment-banking operation.
John O’Herron, CJ’94, of South Weymouth,
Massachusetts, is a compliance examiner with the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts Division of Insurance. He and his wife, Elizabeth
(O’Brien), have a son, Dominick James, born November 18, 2004.

Gerald Quirk, L’94, of Sudbury, Massachusetts,
is a vice president and general counsel of Infinity Pharmaceuticals,
in Cambridge. Previously, he was with Genzyme, where he was responsible
for nonpatent legal services to the company’s oncology, biosurgery,
and cardiovascular divisions.
Bob Sansone, BA’94, of Stoneham, Massachusetts,
is trying to counter a nearly fifty-year-old instance of intolerance
by having a section of Route 28 (Main Street) in Reading named Tolerance
Road. In the 1960s, basketball great Bill Russell lived in Reading
while playing for the Boston Celtics. Russell’s home was broken
into and his property damaged, and a small number of townspeople
petitioned against his residency. Sansone conceived the idea for
renaming the road while on vacation in Florida last year. As his
two young daughters were swimming in a hotel pool, they were joined
by about seventy-five members of an African American family reunion.
One of his daughters said she was uncomfortable being a minority
for the first time in her life and wanted to leave the pool. Sansone
persuaded her to stay; she ended up playing and not wanting to leave.
“I knew at the time this was something special,” he
remembers. “I knew this is a lesson she will never learn in
Stoneham firsthand. The footsteps left behind that day were beautiful
ones of black and white.” Sansone met Russell at a Red Sox
function in May 2006 and was thanked for his efforts.
Joanne (DiGregorio) Smith, AS’94, MS’00,
and Edward Smith Jr., AS’95, celebrated the birth of their
third son, Bohdin Patrick Smith, on November 15, 2006. Bodi joins
his older brothers, two-and-a-half-year-old Camden Thomas and fifteen-month-old
Darrey Owen. Joanne, a stay-at-home mom, worked most recently as
the senior assistant director for students and young alumni in Northeastern’s
alumni relations office. Ed is a vice president at Avenue Auction
Sales in Quincy, Massachusetts. The family resides in Norwell.
Trevor Calvey, BA’95, of Milford, Massachusetts,
and his wife, Dawn, welcomed the arrival of daughter Ella Grace
in July 2006.
Lorenzo Carver, GP’95, of St. Paul, Minnesota,
is the owner of bpCentral and the developer of software that allows
venture capital partners to perform complex analyses on handheld
devices, as well as laptops and desktop computers. Carver says he
expected the project to take six months but it stretched into three
years.
Allen Margulis, UC’95, PA’97, and Heather
Margulis, BPH’96, GB’97, celebrated the birth of their
first child, Samuel Malkam, on September 5, 2006. The family lives
in Natick, Massachusetts. Allen is a tax attorney in Needham. Heather
is the manager of rehabilitation services at Hebrew Senior Life.

Gary Alexander, AS’96, of Greenville, Rhode
Island, has been appointed to serve as the acting director of his
state’s Department of Human Services. Previously, he was the
department’s assistant to the director. Alexander graduated
magna cum laude from Northeastern with a bachelor of arts in political
science. He also holds a master of divinity from Holy Cross Greek
Orthodox School of Theology, in Brookline, Massachusetts.
Nima Eshghi, L’96, of Somerville, Massachusetts,
is a staff attorney with Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders.
Formerly, she was director of professional development at Edwards
Angell Palmer & Dodge. Prior to that, she worked at Harvard
Law School’s Legal Services Center, was a litigation specialist
with Foley, Hoag & Eliot, and clerked for Chief Justice Herbert
P. Wilkins of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. Since 2003,
she has been an adjunct instructor at Northeastern’s School
of Law.
Jennifer (Arsenault) Howe, AS’96, and her
husband, Todd, celebrated the birth of their first child, Tyler
Michael, on September 21, 2006. The family lives in Huntersville,
North Carolina. Howe is the director of communications and public

Wilfred Labiosa, GB’96, is the director of
the relapse prevention and outpatient services of Casa Esperanza,
a comprehensive holistic substance-abuse treatment program. He writes
that he and his spouse have purchased their first home, in Medford,
Massachusetts.
Peter Orner, L’96, of San Francisco, is a
professor in the creative writing department at San Francisco State
University and the author of The Second Coming of Mavala Shikongo
(reviewed in the Fall 2006 issue of this magazine). Journalist Steve
Almond, writing about the book on Salon.com, said, “If it
were up to me, Orner would have won both the Pulitzer and the National
Book Award. The novel is that astonishing. At the very least, he
has joined the first rank of American writers.” The novel
earned Orner the Bard Fiction Prize for 2007; as part of the award,
he will be the writer-in-residence at Bard College during the spring
2007 semester.
Susan (Sheldon) Quimby, AS’96, MJ’01,
and her husband, Scott, celebrated the birth of their son, Jack,
in March 2006. The baby’s siblings are Michaela and Brett.

Vikrant Shah, MBA’96, of Winston-Salem, North
Carolina, is the vice president of risk projects and development
at Triad Guaranty. He has been with the company since 2002 and was
formerly assistant vice president of risk management.
Desmond Bellot, AS’97, of Quincy, Massachusetts,
is the owner of Dolo Clothing Company. He sells hip-hop clothing
lines that include T-shirts, hats, jeans, and sweats. None conveys
a criminal message. “I try to stay away from negative connotations.
The brand is a reflection of the owner, and my thing is positivity,”
says Bellot, who played NU football and is the Huskies’ fifth-best
all-time kick returner and seventh-best all-time pass receiver.
Melissa Gentile, AS’97, of Reading, Massachusetts,
and her husband, Paul, celebrated the birth of daughter Madeline
Rose on November 9, 2006. The new baby joins big sister Audrey.

Scott D. Prince, MBA’97, of Boston, is the
vice president of marketing at the Education Resource Institute.

April A. Abate, AS’99, married Mark L. Adams,
SET’01, on June 19, 2005, in Harvard, Massachusetts.
“We now live and work in the Salt Lake City area,” she
writes. “Mark is employed at Boston Scientific, working as
a medical-device research and development engineer. I am a geologist
at an environmental consulting company, performing environmental
assessments for real estate transactions. We had a baby boy in May

Deborah (Yeager) Snyder, E’99, of Centennial,
Colorado, and her husband, Logan, celebrated the birth of their
son, Tegan, on June 10, 2006. Snyder is a civil and environmental
engineer with CDM in Denver.
Brent Wesler, BA’99, of Clinton, Connecticut,
is the vice president of professional services at Westbrook Technologies.
“I run the services side of the software business, consulting,
education, and support. We are developing a state-of-the-art service-
oriented application document management system due for release
in 2007, which will revolutionize our enterprise document management
space. I tripled service revenues in the last three years, and I
travel extensively throughout the world servicing our 15,000 customers,”
he writes. “My wife, Kimberly, and I have two boys, Brayden
and Brody, and a beagle named Dakota.”
