Russell L. Borman, E'80, MBA'82, has joined Baan USA, where he is responsible for managing technical education services for North America. He and his wife, Nancy, and their daughters, Jenny and Kerry, live in Ashburn, Virginia.

Alf Carroll III, E'80, of Marion, Massachusetts, manages the engineering staff at Communica, in Bourne. He and his wife, Nancy, have a son and daughter. Carroll formerly worked at C. S. Draper Labs and at Sippican.

Barry H. Davis, BA'80, is director of financial planning and analysis for Conseco, in Philadelphia. He and his wife, son, and daughter live in Ambler, Pennsylvania.

Peter J. Kowpak, BA'80, of Flushing, New York, writes, "Congratulations to Joe Caruso, BA'80, on his recent marriage to the lovely Collata."

Linda M. Marcello-Duhamel, PAH'80, lives in Lawrence, Massachusetts, with her husband, Paul, and son, Matthew, who just completed his freshman year at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence.

Elizabeth Gaudet Nolan, N'80, is a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve. She traveled to Ecuador in May to teach medical topics to physicians and nurses.

George B. O'Dea, N'80, is manager of health services for Hanley-Hazelden in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Luis J. Romano, E'80, and his wife, Jean, of Little Rock, Arkansas, celebrated the birth of a daughter, Samantha Gabrielle, on February 1.

Harvey Sklar, BB'80, of Randolph, Massachusetts, completed his tenth Pan Mass Challenge last year. The 200-mile bicycle trek from Sturbridge to Provincetown raised more than $6.75 million for the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Eric S. Benson, CJ'81, of El Paso, Texas, is a special agent for the FBI and an assistant SWAT leader assigned to violent crime/major offenders. Linda Brisson Meyers, CJ'81, is managing officer of Kantor, Mickelson & Meyers, with offices in East Hartford and Avon, Connecticut. She lives in Avon with her husband, Bob, and their son, Edward. Tim Wells, E'81, is the business development manager for energy at Air Liquide, an international group specializing in industrial and medical gases and related services. Lynne E. Claflin, AS'82, of Cave Junction, Oregon, writes, "I quit my job of seven years in Washington, D.C., to move to the peace and quiet of southwestern Oregon, and landed a job at Rogue Community College's Illinois Valley Learning Center working with the adult basic education program. I feel as though I'm making a concrete difference in people's lives."

Ann Galligan Kelley, MBA'82, recently completed her thirteenth year as an assistant professor of accountancy and twelfth year as director of the Business Studies Program at Providence College in Rhode Island. Susan (Fertig) Halpert, AS'83, of Wayland, Massachusetts, was recently named assistant director of the Jewish Community Center's Camp Kingswood in Bridgton, Maine.

Melinda J. Kramer, CS'83, and her husband, Robert Ernst, of Chicago, announce the birth of a son, Alex, on July 3, 1998. Kramer says she watches as many Husky, Bruins, and Patriots games as she can.

Sean McDonald, E'83, of Hanau, Germany, writes, "I am pleased to announce that after many years of procrastination, I have finally become a registered professional engineer. Thanks to all the professors who taught me at N.U. Even after fifteen years I was able to retain enough knowledge to pass the test."

Gale L. Palmer, MA'83, of Weymouth, Massachusetts, writes to ask, "How does one get tickets to the Beanpot Tournament? I've called for years and never have gotten tickets nor an answer."

Joseph K. Witmer, MA'83, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, is legal counsel to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, specializing in telecommunications and Internet issues.

Carl P. Cioppa, BA'84, of Framingham, Massachusetts, and Naples, Maine, is founder and principal of the Wayside Resource Group in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The company provides high-tech staffing services and human resources support.

Amanda M. Guthorn, CJ'84, MJ'90, of Keene, New Hampshire, is director of campus safety and security at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire. She also serves as president of the New Hampshire College and University Chiefs Association and reports she will marry Donald Warman in October. She adds, "I love seeing [sociology professor] Jack Levin on TV. Everyone here knows about Jack Levin Pork [a dish named for him at an area Chinese restaurant]." Jo Ann Gorodetzer, CJ'85, of Montclair, New Jersey, is chief of staff to a member of the New Jersey Assembly. She says she has a six-year-old son, a fiancé, and six pets.

Sharon Blodgett, AS'86, writes, "Just wanted to let classmates know I'm back in Boston (Wellesley) after spending seven (fun) years in Dallas. Divorced (maiden name was Quigley but kept Blodgett because I was used to it and it was easier than changing all my accounts). Still with Fidelity Investments (twelve years now) and still loving it. Michael Magliochetti, E'86, MBA'92, is president and chief operating officer of UroSurge, a high-tech medical device firm. Pearl Mosley, UC'83, MA'96, of Roxbury, was named one of the "Heroes Among Us" by the Boston Celtics in February for her contributions to society and the Boston community. She is eighty years old.

Margery Anne Rossi, AS'86, is chaplain and assistant executive director of St. Peter's Community Outreach Center in Peekskill, New York. She has masters' degrees from Fordham University and the New Seminary. "Life is good," she writes. "I have a fulfilling ministry with wonderful people, and I'm getting married in August. I am truly blessed (and busy)."

Greg Sobel, L'87, of Sudbury, Massachusetts, reports he's "mediating high-profile public disputes from his wheelchair and looking forward to a third hip replacement in late 1999." His cases include the General Electric cleanup of PCBs in western Massachusetts, facilitating pollution cleanup decision making at the Massachusetts Military Reservation, and conducting consensus-based regulation development for the U.S. Department of Education.

Mike Cahill, BA'88, and his wife, Michelle, celebrated the birth of a son, Michael III, on September 28, 1998. He joins a sister, Caitlin. Mike recently opened a law office in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Cynthia L. Deragon, UC'88, of Fort Myers, Florida, writes, "I left Boston in 1988 upon graduating and attended dental school at the University of Connecticut. After residency for two years in New Orleans, I moved to Florida, where I now have my own private practice limited to periodontics."

Juan Diaz-Colocho, ME'88, of San Salvador, El Salvador, is a lighting consultant and designer. Kevin Hogan, AS'88, writes, "The big news since leaving N.U. to work on teaching English is that my wife, Susan, and I moved last year to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We teach at the International School of Amsterdam. Susan teaches math in both the middle school and high school, and I teach English in the high school. Since rowing for N.U. as an undergraduate, I have never given up my love for the sport. Currently, I'm rowing for the Amstel Rowing Club here in Amsterdam. What surprises me most is how much the Amstel River has in common with the Charles: twisting, winding courses with hundreds of boats out on the weekend. All the clubs know each other, and they practice and compete with that in mind. It's a real community of rowing."

Nizar A. Ibrahim, E'88, of Long Beach, California, recently accepted a new assignment as semiconductor industry manager for Mannesmann Rexroth in the U.S., Sweden, and Germany. Al Weggeman, E'88, has been promoted at General Electric to president and general manager of the company's Midwest Electric subsidiary in Minnesota. "Heard so many great things about Minnesota winters that I just had to experience it," he says.

Riva Westlund, L'88, of Brooklyn, New York, is in the final year of a doctoral program in clinical psychology at Adelphi University. She works as a freelance editor of law books.

Michael J. Capecci, AS'89, of Wellesley, Massachusetts, writes, "It's been ten years and I just wanted to say 'what's up?' to all the '89ers out there, especially any '84-85 Stetson Hall dormaholics. Andy Simon, BA'89, and his wife, Liz, of Warren, New Jersey, welcomed their first child, Jake Michael, on March 13. "Yesterday, tearing up the Quad; today, a dad," notes Simon. He works for Business Edge Solutions, a start-up management consulting firm.

Jim Simonson, AS'89, recently moved from Miami Beach, Florida, to Alexandria, Virginia. He works for the U.S. Justice Department. "My wife, Maureen, and daughter, Alexandria, are both anticipating our second child in November," he says.

Reginald J. Steele, AS'89, received a master's degree in criminal justice from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts. He works in the revenue and audit department of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
