ARTIFACTS
IMAGES BY THE ART FACULTY

Ed Andrews, an associate professor of art, arrived
at Northeastern in 1990 as a sculptor. He was surprised to receive a computer
from the university, but soon became interested in a 3-D animation application
it contained. Today much of his work is done as computer animations, which
he considers virtual sculpture. This image is a character study for an
animation tentatively titled "Hula Popper" (the name of a classic
fishing lure). The character shown is named "Small Fish with a Big
Ego." Andrews has fine arts degrees from Kansas City Art Institute
and Indiana University.
