1920s

Howard H. Allen,
E'29, of Davis, California, says he and his wife, Mary, have "enjoyed a loving, supportive marriage" for sixty-two years. They have four children, seventeen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren, including twins. "I've had a wonderful life," Allen writes. "I've experienced twenty-seven different types of employment, lived ninety-two places, and traveled in forty countries (including the Pacific theater during World War II). What more could you expect at ninety-two?" He continues, "I still raise the American flag every morning and lower it every evening, say hello to everyone I meet walking in our neighborhood, and try to make it to our Loyal Scots biweekly men's luncheon." Finally, he adds, "I'm a Republican, have lost some teeth, wear a plate, and have an IBM computer (but it's a mystery to me)."
