Diana Jason Allen,
Ed'70, of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, is an adjunct professor teaching English as a second language. Her husband, George, is a CPA and has his own firm, GB Allen, Associates. Their son Jonathan is a finance major at the University of Maryland, daughter Lisa is a sophomore at the University of Michigan, and son David works in commercial real estate in Manhattan and is engaged.

Howard J. Axelrod, E'70, ME'71, of Albany, New York, is president of Energy Strategies.

Lyn Billman-Golemme, BA'70, MEd'74, was invited by the French government to participate in the International Conference on Water and Sustainable Development in Paris in March. She is a land-use and environmental planner and represents the American Planning Association at the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development.

Robert C. Grogan, PA'70, of Framingham, Massachusetts, has joined Babson-United of Wellesley Hills as director of finance. He was formerly vice president and controller at Abt Associates and previously worked at Arthur D. Little and Coopers & Lybrand.

Kenneth A. MacDonald, UC'70, of Roxbury, Massachusetts, teaches acting at the Boston Center for the Arts. He also performs in plays and movies as a member of the Actors' Equity Association, the Screen Actors' Guild, and AFTRA.

Walter J. Marusa Jr., E'70, of Natalia, Texas, says he'd like to hear from classmates at <cards@texas.net>.

Charles Morrison, L'70, of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, writes, "The success that I enjoy today is in great part due to the education received at Northeastern. I treasure many fond memories of attending school there."

Phyllis Nickerson Power, FD'70, BB'75, of Chatham, Massachusetts, returned from London in 1986 and has been working as a broker at Pine Acres Realty in Chatham. Her husband, Michael, is the owner of the Antiques Center of Cape Cod in Dennis. They have a son, Michael. "If you're coming to the Cape, look us up," she says.

Charles A. Bernat Jr., BA'71, of Forked River, New Jersey, became a captain with Continental Airlines in March and operates out of Newark International Airport.

Phyllis M. Blodgett, UC'71, of Strafford, New Hampshire, is retired and "enjoying hobbies." She says she looks forward to receiving news from Northeastern.

Christopher D. Daly, UC'71, of Alpharetta, Georgia, is participating in lab studies at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. He'd like to know of alumni groups in his area.

Paul R. Gustafson, LA'71, is practicing oncology in Houston. Paul A. Lafkowitz, PAH'71, of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, writes, "Best wishes to the pharmacy class of 1971. I hope everyone is healthy and successful."

Anne Buffie Race, BB'71, of Shusan, New York, reports she's taking a leave of absence from her teaching position in Cambridge, New York, to teach physical education and health at the American School in Tokyo, Japan. "I will also coach volleyball and field hockey," she says. "Should be quite an adventure. I got the job through International Student Services."

John C. Rennie, ME'71, of Bedford, Massachusetts, was presented the first Education and Workforce Development Training Award by the Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM) in April. Rennie is chairman and chief executive officer of Pacer Infotec of Billerica. He is an honorary member of AIM and is a founder and current chair of the Massachusetts Business Alliance for Education.

Amy Moskowitz Schoenfeld, BB'71, reports she's returned to Massachusetts and is a customer service manager for AirTouch Paging in Needham.

Janet N. Silberberg, N'71, and Marshall Silberberg, UC'83, of Randolph, Massachusetts, say that their daughter, Faith, graduated magna cum laude with a degree in health sciences from Boston University's Sargent College and is on track to receive a master's degree in physical therapy in December 1999. Marshall is completing his second term as president of Temple Beth Am Brotherhood. Janet is finishing her second term as sisterhood president.

Olga A. Sowchuk, LA'71, is a city planner for Tarpon Springs, Florida, where she lives. "Not married-never been-no kids, one dog, two cats," she writes. "Am a caregiver for my domestic partner, a traumatic brain injury survivor."

Raymond Cox III, LA'72, of Plantation, Florida, is director of the master of public administration program at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale.

Jack Gelston, E'72, of Naperville, Illinois, is manager of nuclear operations at Doyen & Associates. He says he and Jenny had two seniors in school at the same time-Kerry at Naperville High School and Jennifer at Bryn Mawr College. "Best wishes to the guys from Tau Kappa Epsilon," he adds.

Richard E. Kramer, LA'72, completed a four-year tour as administrative counselor at the U.S. embassy in Rabat, Morocco, and in August became the minister counselor for administration at the U.S. embassy in Moscow.

Paul G. Rogers, BA'72, of Kingwood, Texas, is a risk manager for Air BP in Houston and an instructor with Team Texas High Performance Driving School, which operates NASCAR and Busch Series race cars.

William B. Shinnick, BA'72, of Germantown, Tennessee, is retired from the Navy Reserve and is a pilot for Federal Express.

Steven J. Summer, BA'72, is vice chairman of the board of trustees of West Virginia Public Radio, and president and chief executive officer of the West Virginia Hospital Association. He and his wife, Loraine, and sons, Ari and Jason, live in Charleston, West Virginia.

Kevin D. Withers, LA'72, has joined the Springfield, Massachusetts, law firm Egan, Flanagan, and Cohen as an associate concentrating in civil litigation, insurance law, and workers' compensation. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Hampden County Bar Association, the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute.

Kenneth F. Brown, LA'73, is a broker with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in New York City. He and his wife, Minna, and son, Jonathan, live in Mamaroneck, New York.

Monika Kratzmann, LA'73, of Boston, says, "Congratulations to the class of 1973, of which I am a proud member."

Gregory Lucyk, LA'73, of Richmond, Virginia, was named chief of the Virginia trial section by state attorney general Jim Gilmore. As the state's chief litigator, he is responsible for supervising state and federal court civil litigation involving Virginia.

Steven J. Rosenstein, E'73, is the director of information systems for the Legal Aid Society's juvenile rights division in New York. He headed the design and development of the division's case management system that was nominated for a 1998 Computerworld Smithsonian Award.

Donna Singer, BB'73, of Wall, New Jersey, and Janice Volk opened the first Back to Golf Center in Monmouth County. The program matches physical therapists with PGA and LPGA teaching professionals to offer swing methodology that reduces injury to the spine and extremities.

Robert A. Arnold, PAH'74, of Unionville, Ontario, Canada, is the product manager of drug-utilization review services for Assure Health.

Larry A. Cutler, LA'74, says he is "alive and free and on his own" and has "retired from the corporate rat race." A daughter, Sara, is a National Honor Society graduate from Masconomet Regional High School in Topsfield, Massachusetts, and is attending Union College in Schenectady, New York. A son, David, is an honors student at Higgins Middle School in Peabody, Massachusetts. Cutler says he's "having lots of fun trying different kinds of vocations, loves travel," and is a self-employed consultant for Cutler Consulting Services.

John Arthur Moore, UC'74, of Somerville, Massachusetts, was commissioned captain commanding of the Ancient Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts during a ceremony on Boston Common in June. He has been active with the Massachusetts National Guard for thirty-five years and holds the rank of colonel.

John Pacitti, LC'74, of Pensacola, Florida, is a commercial helicopter pilot for Air Logistics. He and his wife, Linda, have three children, Douglas, Carmela, and Jonathan.

Ilyas Bhatti, ME'75, resigned as associate project director of Boston's Central Artery/Tunnel Project in March, ending a twenty-one-year career in public service, and is now consulting in the private sector. Prior to his position with the Big Dig, Bhatti was commissioner of the Metropolitan District Commission. He and his wife, Irene, and children, Leila, Joshua, and Emily, live in Plainville, Massachusetts.

Edward C. Fuller, LA'75, of Knoxville, Tennessee, is an independent consultant helping companies prepare proposals for government contracts.

Bernard B. Harris, E'75, and Steven B. Thompson have formed Thompson & Harris Strategic Navigation Consultants in Richmond, Virginia. Richard Irving, LA'75, of Columbia, Maryland, earned a law degree from George Washington University and a master's in computer science from Johns Hopkins University. He is an associate at Pillsbury, Madison, and Sotro in Washington, D.C., specializing in representing clients before the U.S. Patent Office. He'd like to hear from graduates at <rirvin@erols.com>.

George H. Maxfield, PAH'75, practices periodontics in Derry, New Hampshire, where he lives with his wife, three children, two cats, and a dog.

Kris McGill, PAH'75, MPH'78, of North Easton, Massachusetts, has served as president of the Massachusetts Society of Health-System Pharmacists for the past year.

Edward B. Nahmias, BA'75, says that "after a lifetime living on the East Coast, I have relocated to Los Angeles, buying investments for a municipal bond fund managed by Capital Research and Management Company."

David L. Rutter, BA'75, was promoted to division vice president of the Boston office of ROMAC International of Tampa, Florida, a professional-level staffing services firm. He has been with the company for twelve years.

Debbie Collins, N'76, MN'80, of Norwich, Vermont, is a nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatric care at White River Junction Veterans Administration Hospital.

Dianna Fabio-Braden, BA'76, of Lincoln, Massachusetts, writes, "I still stay in touch with many classmates. Married a great guy and have a six-year-old child. Life is very good right now."

John F. Gedney, UC'76, of Melbourne, Florida, says he planned to walk the "color-brick road" in May.

George J. Howard, CJ'76, of Naperville, Illinois, married Louise Ann Brackman on October 25, 1997. He is a senior criminal investigator with the U.S. General Services Administration's Office of the Inspector General in Chicago. His wife is curator of collections at Naper Settlement, a nineteenth-century museum village.

Paul L. Klein, MBA'76, of Williamsville, New York, is director of manufacturing systems for Rich Products.

Michael Robert Lane, MS'76, is dean of the Campbell School of Business at Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia. He formerly served as dean of the School of Business and Management Sciences at Indiana University­Purdue University­Fort Wayne.

William Stone, CJ'76, of Leicester, Massachusetts, is a sergeant with the Auburn (Massachusetts) Police Department.

Lynn Arturi Chiavaro, BB'77, of West Point, New York, is an independent associate for Pre-Paid Legal Services. She has two sons, John and Joseph. Her husband, Joe, is the soccer coach at West Point.

Judith A. Fitzpatrick, N'77, of Tacoma Park, Maryland, is a lieutenant colonel stationed at Walter Reed Medical Center. She says she will retire from the Army Nurse Corps next year.

Joana Johnson-Smith, N'77, of Dorchester, Massachusetts, writes this heartfelt letter: "I'm parenting two sons with autism, one with Attention Deficit Disorder. I'd like to correspond with other alumni in similar situations. My life is very different than I had planned. My nurse's training at N.U. really helps me cope with life."

Kathleen Hoey Kiernan, CJ'77, has been appointed special agent in charge of the Chicago field division of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. She notes she has been working full-time for the government since her co-op days and has risen to a senior executive appointment from a GS/3 designation.

Susan Wheeler Lee, N'77, of Vienna, Virginia, received a master's degree from Georgetown University in 1997 and is a certified nurse midwife.

Kevin P. Loflin, BA'77, reports that his company, The Loflin Group, a national executive placement firm based in East Providence, Rhode Island, received the 1998 Blue Chip Enterprise Initiative Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The award is presented annually to small businesses that use resources to overcome adversity or create opportunities, thereby emerging stronger.

Anthony S. Nargi, CJ'77, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, was promoted last year to sergeant in the Somerville Police Department. He has been a member of the department for twenty years.

Kathleen K. Hackett, BB'78, of East Falmouth, Massachusetts, writes, "Hi to fellow Bouvé grads. Life is good living on Cape Cod and working on Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Please send in class notes so I can catch up on what you're all doing now."

Lucille (Bettinelli) Levine, N'78, is vice president of hospice services for the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association. She and her husband, Mark Levine, E'77, live with their son and daughter in Stratham, New Hampshire.

Dana Nute, E'78, of Sanborton, New Hampshire, is construction manager of CPM Associates in Brentwood, an architectural millwork manufacturer and general contractor.

Casey Nanci Sweet-Valentini, MBA'78, of Brooklyn, New York, started a business four years ago specializing in focus-groups research and in-depth interviews for consumer and business issues, products, and services.

Glen D. Weisman, BA'78, of Foster City, California, is director of operations for Rational Software. He and his wife, Kris, have a son, Josh, who is a star pitcher in AAA Little League.

Loren I. Brenowitz, MBA'79, has joined Enhance Financial Services Group, a New York­based financial services company, as vice president­corporate underwriter, specializing in financial guaranty insurance and surety for structured transactions, trade credit, and coal mine reclamation activities. Her involvement currently extends to the firm's two major subsidiaries, Asset Guaranty Insurance Company and Enhance Reinsurance Company.

Kathryn T. Campbell, BA'79, of Vienna, Virginia, is crude oil sales manager for Mobil Oil. She has two children, Julia and Kyle.

Frank C. Fancieullo, BA'79, of Everett, Massachusetts, is assistant vice president of the property management division of Meredith & Grew/Oncor International.

Joellen Farrell Goforth, FD'79, of Mission Viejo, California, says she's "loving life in California with my husband and three children, but still miss Boston after all these years."

Robert S. McFarland, BA'79, of Red Lion, Pennsylvania, asks, "Is there any active alumni group in central Pennsylvania?"

Rita M. McKinney, L'79, has been named to the South Carolina Bar Board of Governors. She is with the McNair Law Firm in Greenville.

Tracy D. Tibedo, LA'79, of Medway, Massachusetts, has joined Cytyc Corporation as product manager after living and working in Chicago. "Looking forward to staying put after several company moves," she says.
