Christopher Pratt, BA'70, became director of the Office of Career Services
and Preprofessional Advising at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
on January 1. Formerly head of career services at Seton Hall University,
Pratt received a master's degree from Bradley University in 1977 and a
doctorate from Seton Hall in 1992. In 1993, he won the Cooperative Education
Association's Ralph W. Tyler Award for Outstanding and Distinguished Research,
Procedures, and Outcomes for Students in Cooperative Education. He has
published more than twenty articles and conducted program consultations
and evaluations at nearly 100 institutions. Pratt says his personal passion
is "for all things Scottish." He's traveled extensively in Scotland
and plans to return "again and again, leading students there to discover
the land and its people."
Ralph M. Carasso, E'71, of Woburn, Massachusetts, joined Hewlett
Packard last year as a process validation engineer.
David L. Freed, E'71, of Glastonbury, Connecticut, was promoted
to geotechnical associate at Gibble Norden Champion in Old Saybrook. He
says the structural engineering company has expanded its practice to include
foundation engineering.
Mario J. Loiacono Jr., E'71, of Mansfield, Massachusetts, was
named a managing partner of BR&A Consulting Engineers, a national firm
with headquarters in Boston.
Christopher C. Grieb, E'72, of Orlando, Florida, is president
of PB Constructors, a subsidiary of Parsons Brinckerhoff of New York City.
Peter F. McNulty Jr., E'72, of Newton, Massachusetts, has been
named a vice president at Modern Continental Construction.
Chester L. Longenecker Jr., ME'73, of West Lawn, Pennsylvania,
is a senior project manager with the industrial division of Parsons Infrastructure
and Technology Group.
Dale W. Varga, BA'73, is a 1997 graduate of the Army War College
and deputy chief of staff and resource manager at Eighth Army headquarters
in South Korea.
Ruth Greene, LA'74, married Richard Kucij on December 27, 1997.
They live in Hudson, New Hampshire.
Janet E. Smith-Rushton, Ed'74, graduated from Yale Divinity School
and was recently appointed district superintendent of the Northern New
Hampshire district of the United Methodist Church New England Conference.
Kenneth S. Woodward, E'74, ME'80, is manager of mechanical engineering
at Kollsman in Merrimack, New Hampshire. He's responsible for the mechanical
design and development of Kollman's electro-optic and avionics systems.
C. Douglas Jordan, E'75, of Destin, Florida, is a senior account
executive with Information Systems Resources, an information technology

Robert Behenna, BA'76, of Everett, Massachusetts, is a facilities
engineer for the U.S. Postal Service's northeast area offices. He is responsible
for the building improvement program and processing centers in New England
and northern New York State.
Rita Shertick, N'76, of Bellflower, California, says she "loves
my job as a wellness nurse with LifeCare Resources." She's been with
the company for a year.
Daniel J. Cahill, PAH'77, of Dudley, Massachusetts, is clinical
manager of pharmaceutical services at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Connecticut.
Frank Geary, E'77, is executive vice president of construction
at HBE in St. Louis. He joined the firm in 1977.
Sandra T. King, MBA'77, is the new senior vice president for
marketing at BankVest Capital in Marlborough, Massachusetts. She has been
a member of the BankVest board of directors since 1994. From 1990 until
1998, she was vice president for marketing at Babson College. King is founder
and principal of STK Associates, a management consulting firm. She has
taught in the MBA programs at Babson and Northeastern.
Earl "Chip" Page, MEd'77, is vice president of City
Furniture in Sunrise, Florida. He lives in Deerfield Beach.
Richard E. Rudolf Jr., E'77, of Bedford, New Hampshire, is manager
of distribution projects at Public Service of New Hampshire, an electric
utility subsidiary of Northeast Utilities.
Mike Burns, BA'79, and his wife, Sue, of North Andover, Massachusetts,
welcomed a daughter, Taylor, on June 6, 1997. She arrived "healthy
with a big smile," Burns writes.
Dorothy (McEachern) Cipolla, BA'79, is chief financial officer
and treasurer at Network Six in Warwick, Rhode Island.
Michael R. Katz, BA'79, is president of REF Advisory, a Richmond,
Virginiabased company he formed in 1996. "The company's role
is acting as a real-estate finance adviser and consultant to corporations
in structuring their finance program for their real-estate growth,"
he says.
James M. Scarpace, E'79, was promoted to senior vice president
at Tishman Construction in Washington, D.C. He's responsible for activities
and operations in the mid-Atlantic region. Scarpace has been with Tishman
for seventeen years. He and his wife, Patricia, and three children live
in Oakton, Virginia.
